Research laboratories of the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Information Security

Севастьянов Валентин Валерьевич - заведующий лабораторией аппаратных средств вычислительной техникиOn the basis of the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Information Security there are 7 research laboratories and 2 scientific and methodical offices equipped with modern hard- and software. Each classroom is estimated for 15 workplaces equipped with computers. Every computer in standard option has the installed operating system Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007.

Depending on specifics of a cabinet, classrooms are equipped with additional hard- and software. The Computer Hardware Laboratory has more than 10 computers intended for students’ training to assemble computer equipment, install additional software and their setting up. The Physics Laboratory is equipped with physical stands and devices intended for carrying out laboratory experiments.

In the Communication Networks and Systems Laboratory each workplace is equipped with expensive CISCO equipment used around the world for protection and organization of computer networks, as well as Kerio Control with Sophos AV EDU.

In the laboratories students receive knowledge and skills on ensuring information security. During practical trainings senior lecturers teach future specialists and bachelors in the field of information security and information business. Students receive knowledge in the field of practical use of the specialized equipment intended to block information leakage on network, acoustic, vibration and acoustic, radio - and to wire channels. Students are taught to work on searching radio, hidden video cameras, to identify information transmitters and to block them.

Students are taught principles of programming with the use of up-to-date workflow application builders for web systems, mobile devices and personal computers; receive knowledge in the field of setting up servers ensuring computer network security, and carrying out audit of network resources of the organization by means of the worldwide recognized software, such as CISCO, Kerio, Microsoft, etc. There are held classes on development, set up and installation of fire and security alarm systems. Great attention is paid to research work on examining properties of radio-transmitting devices, possibility to block their work by means of the available systems SONATA and Barkan. There are conducted studies of reactions of the socialized devices (scanner and nonlinear radar) on various systems and materials when scanning premises on existence of bugging devices that assists to decrease false detection. There are tested new software products in the field of web technologies and introduced studying software products to educational process.

The Technical Protection of Information Laboratory and the Classroom of Information Security Management are equipped with the following devices: "Sonata", "Barkan", "Curtain", "Lorgnette", "Piranha", "Diamond", "SecretNet 6", "Pantsir-K", XSpider 7.8, "Blokhost" and other hardware and software complexes intended for carrying out practical training on security of premises and information resources from external threats and espionage, and also identification of bugging devices. The Electrotechnics, Electronics and Circuits Laboratory is equipped with soldering stations, oscillographs and other devices intended for laboratory research. The Classroom of Programming Technologies and Multimedia is provided with the software: MS ForeFront, MS Windows Server, MS SQL Server, MS Sharepoint, 1S: Bitrix, MS Project and Mathcad system which are used in educational process both at ours, and at other Departments of the ANPO HPE IOSI for training in programming, design, development of web applications, applications for mobile devices and other multimedia courses.

The Legal Informatics Laboratory is equipped with the systems "Consultant Plus" which bases are daily updated. All hard- and software has the corresponding licenses and certificates. The laboratories are managed by the Department academic and teaching personnel having long-term experience in this area. Fifteen classrooms of the Institute are equipped with projector equipment that lets to conduct classes with use of up-to-date interactive educational technologies.

Grants, competitions, projects:

The laboratory young specialists won the competition “Skolkovo Innovation Prize”. They were semifinalists of this competition and got the prize – video camera HD Flippi.

The Laboratory staff took part in the competition "New Industrial Technologies and Equipment" (Orenburg) further to which there were tested the results of the research on statistical properties of image for creating of noise-resistant algorithms of biometric identification.

The grant "Cisco Networking Academy " (2011) is won.
